Just wanted to send my last message here for a bit. Gonna be shipping off tomorrow, basic training is up next. Kind of anxious, feeling a bit of everything. I get 2 weeks off for Christmas, so there's something to look forward to. But after that, it's back to basic, and then AIT.
I joined this site in 2018 when I was a junior in HS. Quite a few of you shaped my interest in computers, and I thought I had my career all figured out when I was in college. Unfortunately, life has its own plans (as do crappy job "recruiters"), and here I am.
My job is relatively computer-related, so I won't be missing out too much. Just sucks thinking about all that lies ahead. I am officially going to be the property of Uncle Sam, courtesy of the US Army. _________________ My CPU List (Trades and For Sale) |

Oh wow, sorry to hear that was necessary. Got a friend who did the same after running out of other options and from what he said, basic training was rough but he got through it ok in the end - good job security to look forward to though. Anyways good luck, I hope everything goes smoothly. _________________ High-reliability electronics photography & circuit analysis: https://dcstraney.wordpress.com

You are also gonna make life long friends. You have options like getting another degree or master... schooling isn't gone, specialized people are required always. |
