Plant codes (actually test locations) have changed through Intels history.
Like it or not Intel is VER inconsistent in their markings, and they don't publish much about them. _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

Interesting as I had always associated the first letter or digit in the FPO number as a Manufacturing Country Code rather than a Test Site.
C = USA
L = Malaysia
8 = Philippines
Etc.
Makes those chips with Top and Bottom Markings that differ more explainable.

Intel actually says that it is the test site. Thats why the date code on the front SHOULD always be later then the one or 2 on the back. _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!
