What was the prices like? Omg-this-is-stealing or just like ebay but some more chips to choose from?

All PLCC chips were 3 Euro / each. CDIPs = 8,50 Euro / each. The most expensive chip I have seen is the Intel D80C187 = 35 Euro.

Two boards: One - I guess - dual-450 MHz-CPU-unit and a testboard for 4-Mbit-EPROMs

on the dual board the purple chips seem to be the CPUs but what are the white ones? Caches?

the stuff that - hopefully - refinances my trip will be soon on ebay such as a C8080A, C4008, C4009, RAYT2901, AMD2901 and others.

I'll post some military devives later. not really valuable (following georges guide) but anyway interesting.

the other thing:
demotronic invited 17 people, 8 said they come and they came:-)

the more people are interested and tell them they are the more we can hope they do it again!!!

i'd like to go there again next year.

btw, the almost best finds were besides the showroom - such as the zebra z80 that doccy found.
yes, doccy, i am envious.

maybe i can collect enough money to buy yours:-)

ups, almost forgotten, there was a tube 1702.
and what did i see?
that rounded 1702!
again following georges guide (1st edition) until now only one known, so extremely rare. will be up on ebay soon too (i need money for some boards from chris, hehe).

up for trade i have a 8255 white, a amd 2901 purple, a mostek 3880-4 (z80) purple, motorola 6800, amd 9080 white, signetics 8x300, ... more i don't remember right now sitting in the metro.

hopefully i made you curious enough to participate the next open day - if therre will be one.

cheers, michael

Hehehe... Doccy was like an animal... Grubbing each box and so on LOL... I found some nice pieces just by walking around in the stock and taking a peek in the boxes LOL...

Very interesting fact: I've seen many Nexgen VL System logics, but only one Nexgen CPU! Were have the others gone? Maybe the Nexgen staff should know, that they don't wreck those Nexgen boards at all... and keep them as single piece. I'm sure there always will be interest by the collectors.

Another thing I mentioned was missing knowledge. It was obvious at the sorting stations for PLCC and DIP ICs. I'm sure many valueable chips were in the "other box"... and others are goldscrap.

Maybe a better binding between Demotronic and the collectors would make sense?

I've seen a standard Nx586 P90 with small heatspreader - didn't ask for price; didn't want to buy this CPU.

Yeah I like grubbing in vintage chips and to let the dog out! Razz
It`s so nice to feel the spiky pins and the cold ceramic,
to pump the dust from the cloud I produced during grubbing
into my lungs, watching out for special numbers on the golden
lids of hundreds of chips and then finding a 30 year old vintage-cpu,
holding it between my dirty, thermal-compounded fingers
against the direct sunlight of the dawn... icon_mrhappy
