Can we have the winning price? Even if nobody knows who bought it, it's useful to ahve an idea what it would be worth if another turns up...

The downside of these closed auctions (as a buyer) is that if the seller isīnt happy with the offers he could just say its sold and keep the chip. Just check the market value so to say.

EDIT: Just a general point of view. Nothing to do with the seller in this thread at all.

That's always been my feeling with closed auctions like this. I rarely participate, as I know there are a few members here who will always be able to pay more than me, and I ahve no idea if they are interested in the chip - a pointless bid if everyone wants it, and a bid too high if nobody else wanted it.

I for one would love to see a forum here which can be used for open (ie non-hidden) auctions, and better still I'd love to see that followed by hidden auctions being stopped - how else can anyone try to follow what the market says an unusual chip is really worth? It's a bit like the buyers on eBay who paid stupid money for their SX753 (Pentium 60 ceramic, for those who don't know their sSpec numbers...) - I paid recently a fraction of what they paid, and nearly got a better one for a slightly higher price but a buyer who already has more than one in good condition outbid me Sad How would one estimate the market value when it's just a couple of buyers who pay the stupid prices and outbid everyone else?

Oops, this has turned into another of my rambles, I'm good at that sometimes Smile Well, you'll just have to suffer it, coz I can't be bothered not to send it now I typed it Smile LOL

Not a philosophical point, but there are a few available from China these days:
