Nope. I don't collect modern CPUs. (Or recent data books.)

I'm actually looking for a datasheet that covers the BGA processors - all the datasheets I have looked through so far have info only about the PGA chips. I have as much info as there is on this site about K6 family processors, but that is far from complete when it comes to some of the more unusual or less common versions.

Thanks for the external links though, I think there were a couple of datasheets I don't have (I'll know for sure when I get home and compare them against what I do have...).

It's widely available... I think AMD has it on their site.

If it is available then it is really hidden. Because I never found it.

Here is one with BGA processors:

Is the CBGA package in that document exactly the same as the LGA (as it's called on CPUShack.net, the only site I've looked on that describes the K6-Processor-CA-ES)? If not, then I stand by what I said, it is not documented (and even if the opackage is, there are cases among the AMD K6 family where a different voltage or temperature spec applies to a different speed rated chip, so I will still want documentation if it exists).

Thanks anyway for the links that have been given Smile

Is there anywhere that I can get info on that package and it's electrical/thermal characteristics? So far, that's the only K6 processor I have been unable to find info on...

If I appear to be repeating myself, I apologise, I'm just not sure if I have been clear about what I am looking for Smile

Where is the book with the info I am asking for? As the chip was released at a time when everything was available as electronic documentation, I would be surprised if it was only ever available as a paper document (plus the fact that, living on the poverty line means I cannot afford the price that some databooks sell for, and if I could it would mean not being able to buy the chips which I am interested in...).

If you have this book and wish to be helpful (as you stated previously that you give info away...) please let me have a scan of the page which lets me know of the electrical parameters for the chip I am asking about and the thermal characteristics for the package...

Blessed art thou who helps thyself...

The information exists somewhere in print - either paper or online - and I have every confidence that you can find it. But again, it won't necessarily come FREE. That is an expectation you need to dispense with post haste.

If you look around the board, I've already provided quite a bit of useful information - recall the 82S06 - and continue to do so, so this implication that I'm not being "helpful" is specious at best. In point of fact, I'm potentially one of this forum's greatest unsung resources.

Indeed - a few thousand data books, tens of thousands of vintage chips, and decades of experience as a collector - so I'm sure you weren't being the least bit sarcastic.

There are a couple old sayings I'm reminded of involving gift horses and biting of hands...

But wait, what am I thinking?? Data sheets just materialize out of the ether and appear online as if by magic. And obscure parts... Why, they go around identifying themselves! Silly, silly me.

Perhaps there is more to beeing a resource in a forum, beyond a lot of datasheets and knowledge? Wink

Yes, like not arguing with someone who's trying to help you become a better collector. I'm sure I can think of a few other things too... Wink

As for old English sayings, if you ask for information and someone points you to where to find it, the best thing to do is say "thank you" and leave it at that.

chip68: Some people dont want/need help becoming a better chip collector (Plenty of Intel only collectors to sell stuff to)

JAC: Some people like their datasheets and like to charge for them. Just like the folks that pay high $$ for Memoribillia that someone wrote 'Intel' on

We have MANY resources on this forum, JAC has one of the most extensive Sspec collections there is, chip68 has a great collection of datasheets (Except for a 2763), we have russians who decipher crazy commie stuff.

It's imperitive that we use all the resources we have, bickering over bloody datasheets is no help.

Case CLOSED
