Question is simple :
privilegiate those with lot of $$$ or those who are often on the forum and have more chance to take a chip at the right time...

Gennadiy choose.

PS : 50$ for the AMD ... Laughing Rolling Eyes

I totally agree as well. If bidding were open (ie we can see who has offered what) it would be different, but we now have a regular seller (who I suspect is just that - a seller and not a collector...) who puts even the most common chips up for private/hidden bids!

I would go farther than you and suggest that people who are primarily traders and not collectors should not be able to use the forum as a cost-free shopping market (of course, this doesn't apply to those who sell a lot of stuff and are also collectors...)

All just sour grapes because you can't afford the stuff.

Personally I don't see much difference between posting a fixed price and letting the buyer(s) set the price.

It's not sour grapes - it's a collectors forum and not a traders forum, so I added my comment along those lines. It does not mean I don't like anyone or that I'm complaining about anyone because of my not being well off, it means I am adding my comment to a thread about the way some people like to trade.

As noted by Marcin, you might not agree with everything that is said, but nobody has voted no to the original suggestion.

I understand that the system of the private offer is not perfect, but I think it's good system for collector and for seller. IMHO

Now this is exactly what I was trying to achive when I first came on this site! No Ebay like PM's and such!!! It really pisses me off that people do this !

I agree, if your gonna sell it, then sell it, or say it is for trade only, other wise, get your Freakin' Ebay like Threads out of here!

Why? What conceivable difference would it make if the price is fixed or determined by private offer...? So far, no one has come forth with a convincing argument against this allegedly evil practice. In fact, by requiring that the price be stated up front, you take all control out of the hands of the buyer and give it to the seller outright. Surely that wasn't your intention with this nonsense? Essentially, you're preventing people from paying what they feel an item is worth. I should also point out that PM'ing an offer is *nothing* like Ebay, where the bids are public and the high bidder gets the item regardless.

A bad idea is a bad idea, even if 90% of the people vote in favor of it.

I voted for the first option, when I actually should have voted for the second option. I think both "fixed price" and "best offer" sales are good ways to sell chips depending on chip rarirty and the number of chips you want to sell. Unfortunately, all bidder-seller interaction for the "best offer" sales happens offline, and can be abused by sellers. As a way to prevent the abuse we can ask the bidders to send only one offer, and, no matter what the seller tells you, never increase the offer. We can reduce abuse to a minimum if all or most of the collectors would do that.

Errrrrrm.......If your "Pointing" your quote in my direction, you'd better pay attention to the topic at hand first! Wink
This wasn't my post ... I simply agreed to it. Tis my opinion, and it matters to me what I say,I couldn't care less what you think or anyone else. I have simply excersise my right to enter a disscution like everyone else.
...and yes, there is something terribly wrong with treating CPUworld like an Ebay store! I don't care what anyone else sees different . I see what I see, tis a freakin' Ebay shop in here !

To everyone that disagrees with me->Go hide your "Ebay games"(so called offers) somewhere else! That's my opinion and I stick by it !

Aaaaaaaaaaaah !

Now that's more reasonable !
A specific area of "private" Ebay like thread section for the PM'ers of offers !

Nice idea !
