Why? These are Motorola made. |

I nearly got caught out by the part number when I first added them. I have no idea why Motorola used TI part numbers on them (and didn't realise they are so uncommon...).
Unfortunately I don't think I have any extras, but I'll take a look through my duplicate Eproms when I get home. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

The reason for the TMS part number is that the TMS2716 has 3 supply pins (+12, +/-5V) and a slightly different pinout for compatibility with existing TI parts, whereas the MCM2716 only requires a single 5V supply (like every other 2716).
One more mystery solved thanks to the magic of data books...

Other way 'round:
Motorola TMS2716 = TI TMS2716 = oddball
MCM2716 = TMS2516 = Intel (and every other) 2716

Thanks for the info Chris, a useful update I can add when I start adding data to the eprom pages. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

I dont have any TI databooks, but I was under the impression that they changed there part numbers starting with the 16 (maybe it was 32 though) to match JEDECs.
Ie TI 2532 is the TI pinout and TI 2732 = JEDEC _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

Here's the 25L32 data sheet, and as you can see it's also listed as JEDEC compliant:
However, its pinout is slightly different from a standard 2732. Might be useful to get hold of the actual JEDEC ROM/EPROM spec at this point.

I do indeed. The one from 1986 only mentions the 2732A (which is pin-compatible with Intel and other 2732's) through 27C512. I may have some TI books from the intervening years - but they're in storage, so I'll have to look around and get back to you.
