I am currently running a pc with the above and was looking for advice on suitable processor upgrade. I am unsure of identity of motherboard., although processor is in Socket A.
Also do I need new thermal grease etc. if I remove the heat sink from existing processsor and replace with a suitable new processor.
I am new to this. |

| Does GA-72MMP or GA-7ZMMP make any sense as a motherboard identity. |

if it's a GA-7ZMM Motherboard you can put a Athlon 1.4GHZ FSB200 in it _________________ VIA C3 Processor Forever |

Hopefully, I won't be describing the same specs. as the original author but I was wondering what would be the best processor to use based on my current specs?
I currently have an ABIT KT7 Motherboard with a socket A/462 slot. My original 800 Mhz AMD Duron Processor burned out (I think) but many of the other components worked fine when I installed them on other computers (i.e. Power Supply, Graphics Card).
Much like the original author of this post, I'm new to this.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

The fastest processor supported by your board is Athlon 1.4 GHz with 266 MHz FSB. Make sure you install BIOS version "4A" or later.
