Hi friends!
Today I have a special thing to offer: 8+1 SRAM IC that give together 1Mb of cache to 486 mainboard and some rare P5 mainboards.
All together: 50 Euro. _________________ Frank. |

Most of 486 mainboards have only 128 - 256 Kb cache.
1 Mb cache chips are EXTREMELY rare, but not all 486 mainboards can use them.
The mainboards which can accept 1 Mb chips are very rare too ! |

The cache chips smoke nicely if you put them in the wrong way around in the sockets. |

Ah yeah ?
You guys find them rare over there...?
Guess it depands which area your from maybe. I know what a 1mb cache is, this is what I was talking about. But around here, I don't find them as rare as you all describe them to be at all.
Again, maybe just an area thing, in which case I also now realised that the soviet chips and such in your area are not rare over here anymore. They were at one point this year, which would explain why even myself bought a whole bunch ! Only after realising that in your area, their a dime a dozen ! So I took a lost and sold them on Ebay...Pffffffft ! What an even bigger mistake ! A 30 lot of so called rare soviet chips, only went for under $3.00 !!!
I found that Ebayers /collectors are really losing interest in buying off Ebay lately. What happened??? Where'd everyone's interest for chips go ?

SRAMs with 1Mbit are indeed rare, I would love
to plug them into my 486er-system!
Of course SRAMs are much more expensive than
stupid DRAMs. And with SRAMs you can do very nice
experiments and developing without any circuits for the f**king refresh. _________________ Ordem e Progresso |

Very funny !
But after getting screwed over by your prices vs the actual "rarety of your older chips", I'm not doing anybody in here favors anymore...
I , myself don't run into 486 motherboards everyday, but I did have a piss pile of them and yes I observed that most of them had a few 1mb cache on them. To me and many others arround my region, they are worthless ! Kinda like those brown uv eproms of yours! Same thing...
No offence of course... I'm just saying it like it is !

I pulled many cache modules from tens or maybe even hundreds boards and never saw (or only not remember) Samsung modules. Always : UMC, Winbond, ISSI, IDT, Aster, Micron chips. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

yeah...............I just noticed the "rare p5 motherboards" after rereading the post. But the price for me is still outa wack for such things that to me are not hard to find...s'all I was trying to say.
Guess I'm getting tired of people overpricing stuff that when you turn arround and fines out, they are only worth 1/4 of what you got them for , if that
Sorry Frassy ! Didn't mean to cause trouble...Had you jumping on my throat so much, I guess I thought I'd finally throw-up in your face for once!
