Check what I found in home at clearing :

I don't know if it is rare and valuable but it is very nice. Old green digits. Small dimension and aluminium case-cover. 1975 year. I repaired power supply from batteries and will keep as favourite calculator at home
As I good remeber chip68 collect them (thousands). It will be great to hear his opinion
BTW Here is description of this item :

I think the most intriguing thing about it is the pseudo-RPN addition/subtraction... Few manufacturers (apart from HP) used anything but straight algebraic entry. Otherwise, pretty standard hardware. Nice find, though!

Thanks for opinion
I learned how to use that. Example 10 - 2 must be entered :
10 + 2 -
and we have correct result 8
if we type 10 - 2 we will have -8
hehehe _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

This is interesting, so really, calculators have a significant value not only in itself, but the chip inside , I presume as well?. I must start keeping an eye out for these as well.
You see, someone should compel a list of special electronics that people like me don't know to look for.
Exp. We all know computers, some printers, some typewritters, calculators...what else ?

My block where I live is not older than 10 years. I remember that I got it as gift from uncle from Germany. I didn't know it is speciall - I said "next calculator at home great pfff " Now I checked it and got to know it is OLD
JD you can get nice chips also from old TVs and RADIOs. I found Zilog Z80 CPU inside TV _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

Sheesh ! S'like a big conspiracy in here againts devoting important info like which electronic devices should one specificaly look for that contains certain chips...
Almost have to go on some sorta secret spyon mission just to hear the leak of info ! I did some reading, but I thought maybe someone would have more interesting , intellectual ,specifics to share with the world...
Bah !
Nevermind...

I tend to assume if I see anything electronic that it might have something of interest in it. If it is not worth keeping whole (such as a printer or scanner with mechanical faults or a TV with a burnt out tube) then I'll strip it down, and if nothing is of interest to me as a collector, it is all of interest as scrap (more so when different metals and component types are separated out...).
Even a childs cuddly toy that makes a noise when squeezed (or thrown...) could yield something interesting. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

Wrong chips Sammy - you really need to clean your fridges, not just replace them when a bag of chips bursts _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

These chips came from a fridge...
Of course, it was the size of your average minivan.
