If you google the partnumber on the K6-2 it belongs to a Compaq Presario 7400 series.

Thank you for this information. Smile , now I know how to use the compaq part number to search the original system.

Some more googling gives you a Presario 7482 to be exact. (Of course there can be more than this one with a 550) http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00034550&lc=en&cc=us&dest_page=prodinfoCategory&tool=prodinfoCategory&product=94498&dlc=en

K6-2/550AFX is quite rare. I'm afraid that buying 202965-001 replacement part won't always get you 550AFX processor. Since the 202965-001 part was used in desktop computers, it may stand for both 550AFX and 550AGR processors.

I'd missed this post first time round, I didn't know there was a 550AFX. That's another one to add to my site Smile
