These are socket 1207 processors sold in pairs:

Interesting that FX-72 costs $800 for two processors. Each processor is probably as fast as FX-62, and FX-62 is priced at $713(!). Also, press release doesn't mention manufacturing process, which means that these are 0.09 micron processors. My suspicion is is that we won't see 0.065 micron AMD chips this year.

Good to know... Hopefully the prices will drop significantly on X2 chips so I'll be able to upgrade my Athlon XP box to Athlon 64 x2 Smile

This box's vitals include two FX-74 processors, an Asus L1N64-SLI WS mobo, 4GB of memory in the form of Corsair Dominator DIMMs, a pair of WD 150GB Raptors in RAID 0, a 500GB drive for additional storage, a 1kW PSU, and a couple of GeForce 7900 GTX cards in SLI.

1kW PSU WOW that is to much power consumption ! I think that PSU is more expensive than my complete PC Very Happy

I'd pay a weekend in a 5 stars hotel 100 meters away from Buckingham Palace... plus tips for the personnel! Smile
