Buy a common white gold chip and write C4004 on it.

You can have a complete MCS-4 like that no needs for chinese to make fakes.
C4001 can become C4004. |

Yes it looks like it is easy to make FAKE but I believe LZF7000 not do this. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

| I PM'd LZF7000 about the $10,000 listings. I for one am interested in one of them and would like to know what he actually wants for it. I'm assuming he that he is not trying to sell it for $10,000. Hopefully we will get some explanation. I think he is trying to avoid e-bay fees, some of the text in his auction suggests this but I'm not sure because it seems that the insertion fee on 10k is probably much greater than the insertion + final value fee on a $50 chip. In any case, I will post if I hear anything. |

.....I don't believe that they are fake either, allthough I agree that there are some out there for sure...
But, the price tag is absolutly ridiculous ! Ebay fees ? HE be paying a furtune to be posting them on Ebay for that much when he ain't going to get it .
Oh well, to each is own I guess !

LZF7000 responded to my question. It seems posting items in an e-bay store (at least in Chinese e-bay) is free (this is probably why we have to wade through so many spam listings.) However, when an item sells on the U.S. version of the Chinese e-bay store it incurs a final value fee the same as the U.S. E-bay. So... He has listed these things for advertisement with the thought that he will lower the price (probably next week) and then the buyer will (in theory) buy the item through the Chinese e-bay site which is free. (This is how e-bay thanks those of us in the western world for making the owner one of the 20 richest people in the world .) Have I mentioned how much I like e-bay's policies. If I had my way we would regulate their business in the U.S. like we regulate, or used to regulate before our government was purchased by corporate America at discount price, all other monopolies. What do you think listings would cost if a 10% profit margin were enforced. Mabey $.001. |

Thanks for your answer.
I understand now.
Anyway ebay is fine for collecting chips and LZF7000 a good and honnest seller and his C4004 is not a fake but it is in poor condition. |

Chinese ebay is same free as is Polish. So that is good strategy to put example a few auctions with rare CPU in example ebay.com and others in free service like ebay.pl to keep without fees. I must check that maybe will open store
But last time chipsfans put some auctions on Singapore free ebay and his items wasn't viewable in any ebay except Singapore _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

Aaaah ,I see now.
Ok, but I still think people should get right to the point and put the price they want for their chips or auction it at normal start bidding prices.
Exemple :
It doesn't encourage me to go and buy something that says $10000 , at all ! In fact, it completely throws me in the other direction...hence to look the other way
So this "so call strategy" can have a serious reverse effect like, making people not want to even look at that auction thinking their crazy and shouldn't be on Ebay.....like me
Advise, be carefull on how to post on Ebay, it might not help your sales, infact, it might give you bad name !
