Found an old fax machine today with a NEC V55.
+ a TMS 27C240-10 UV eprom.

Should I throw it out ?

NEC V55 sounds interesting! What`s the exactly P/N
of this chip? I didn`t know NEC produced V55`s....
What package? Could you take a picture? How much? Very Happy

Oh no, too bad! Sad
Did you use a heating
air-blower?
Because of those accidents
also happened sometimes to me
I now use a saw! Sawing the
PCB with a little border around the
chip does not look bad.
It is a bit more work but there are
no bent or missing pins anymore and
you can store the chips easily because
no problems with bent pins.

...used a soldering gun and pliers.

Oh well...



At least it's nice to know they made that package "v55" .
