Found this...


I was quite puzzled to see the double sigma marking on a processor that's older than some processors that don't have it, but it seems to make sense after all. Apparently Intel requested that early batches of 386 get returned to them, tested them to check if they exhibited a specific flaw and marked the processors with the double sigma if they passed the test.
