I want to expand my memory on my pc cuz it's gettin kind of slow. I was looking at my pc spec and this is what it says:

STANDARD RAM
512MB PC-2700 333MHz DDR (expandable to
2.0GB)

HARD DRIVE3
120GB††3 7200rpm Ultra/ATA-100 Hard Drive
DVD±RW / CD-RW DRIVE***
DVD±RW
-RW

I was looking at the selection from this web page.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=147&

Do any of these look promising? What should i look for?

Please help me out.

THanks

"Chiptalk"
okay, so i went through the sites you preferred. It says my pc can hold 2gb worth of memory. I have 4 slots available (1 in use). Can i buy the 1gb kit(512mb x 2) and install them into the remaining slots without taking out the factory installed card(Basically 1.5gb)? One reason is because i need alot of memory for the programs i am running.

Tell me if i am correct or not;

So, I can keep the existing RAM intact and add on a single 1gb or (512mb x 2)? Which method would you pursue if you were me? The 512mb x 2 kit or the single 1gb? The ebay one looks real tempting though!

I have A Sony Vaio model PCV-RS420. It has two 256mb cards that was factory installed and 2 empty slots. I just did the crucial scan, and it suggested i get two 512mb cards in order to fill the two remaining slots. Would that make my pc noticeably faster?

Depends on what you use it for...

Certainly more responsive.
