What is the best setup for overclocking? and what is the best software for checking cpu speed?

Cpuz, browse it. Good for cpu info.

Real time clock etc.

975 is the name of the chipset. Depends on your hardware. Browse for an overclocking tutorial. Wink

Hey thanks! My board is a D975xbx2 with a 2.4ghz 2 core just wanted to know what the best setting were to overckock it to 3.0 ghz

Sorry, for oc you must read a tutorial, try googling for overclocking and your cpu name, you'll find plenty I guess.



Normally you have to check the fsb, accordingly with your ram speed and pci/agp/pci-ex.


If you raise the fsb and alla the components like pci too much you can fry your hds, so read tutorial and learn! Smile

Alone is sometimes better...

cpu speed isn't most iportant after overclocking. You must be sure that computer will be stable at work. To check that I recommend Prime95

To have fun with PC and check current speed and many other interesting informations I recommend : Everest and SiSift Sandra.
