That is a Hitatchi logo on the bottom chip. I do not think that is an Intel 4004. Hitachi part numbers start with HD, so the part number would be HD35404, but I can not find any data. I also would not expect to find a 4004 on the edge of a board like that.
Edit: I see the P4201A is a clock generator. Its datasheet states " Complete Clock requirements for MCS-40 systems" So maybe I am wrong. If you post a pictue of the back of the board it may be possible to trace the tracks between the chips and determine if it is possibly a 4004. |

maybe there's a boring microcontroller that shows it can't be a 4004 cpu. |
