I received it today.
The top looks so common.
But there are letters say "MIL" on the back. what does it mean?
It's my first c8087, so i dont know if others have the same marking as mine.
thanks ~~~ _________________ My vintage CPU collection:www.cpumuseum.com

I think the "MIL" is justy an internal code. A lot of Intel (and other) chips have internal codes - much like the superfluous "ES" that we have all seen many a time and had numerous discussions about.
Intel always (or almost always - I'm not an expert...) have an "M" in the prefix of the part number of any military spec chip which has a regular Intel part number. As such, for this to be mil spec it would have to be "MC8087-3".
You will also note that the "MIL" is printed in a different font/size to the other text, indicating that it was printed at a different time to the other markings. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

Nicely noted John, thanks. I had not done enough research to realise that mil-spec has to include the screening as well _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.
