|
|
I've got 15 or so processor that have 1-5 bent pins each. They are very lightely bent and can be straighten by hand but wanted to see if there were any techniques to make them perfect. Like a crdit card or maybe using the appropriate socket (which might be hard to find each one but possible)
I figured you guys might know some Pin Straightening Kung Fu! |

I use a, what i think in english is called a "mechanical pencil". Like the one on the left in the pic below. This is best suitable for a couple of random pins i think.
In this thread http://www.cpu-world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5599 Pinkie had made a special tool that looked great for doing complete rows of pins. The pics seem to be gone though... Pinkie? (Since my source of cpu:s is mainly eBay and here i donīt come across bent pins that often.)

| Good idea! So do you just place the pencil hole over the bent pin? I think my wife has some jewelry pliers I can use and maybe flie down to a flat surface. |
