got this strange beast today
but the original cpu was missing, and I don't know where to start icon_blink

anybody can shed some light on what CPU it would take and how to set the maze of jumpers on the board? Wink

Northbridge is a GN82854
and the CPU core mark on the heatsink is approx. 0.8 x 1.1cm

should be socket 479 for Pentium M Celeron M Intel Core Duo, Intel Core Solo Intel Core 2 Duo


The Intel® 854 chipset is a combination of the Intel® 82854 Graphics Memory Controller Hub (GMCH) (Graphics Memory Controller Hub) and ICH4-M (I/O Controller Hub). The Intel® 854 Chipset is designed to work with the Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) Intel® Celeron® M processor at 600 MHz with 512 KB of on-die L2 cache on an 0.13 micron process. The Intel® 82854 GMCH provides high performance, integrated graphics and manages the flow of information.

I bet quite a few people would love to benchmark those mobile processors with *real* PCI-E graphics Very Happy See how they perform across platform.

These 479 boards were purchased primarily for home theater pc use by enthusiasts. Not many were sold and they were quite pricey. Most folks looking for silent home theater pc's such as myself went with AMD turion 64's that fit in normal socket 754 boards.

This is an evaluation board. It's for testing purposes bot for use anywhere... I sold my Embedded Pentium eva. board to Sam...
