There seems to be more and more "look what i got" threads all over the forum. There are designated sticky threads called "Latest finds" but they are rarely used and moderators does not seem to make use of them. Also there are the non-chip hardware to show of.
I love the "look what i got" posts, nice to see new hardware and the increase in posts show that there are more collectors joining. But how about a separate forum or subforum for these threads? Perhaps under News?
Or just make use of the "Latest finds" threads?
Does my babbling make any sense? _________________ My collection: http://www.cpucollection.se :::::: http://www.chipdb.org Photos of chips you never knew existed. Now over 6000 different chips in the database. |

"Latest finds" thread is not perfect. When latest finds pictures are posted the posters usually expect to hear people's impressions or questions. All responses in that thread reduce the value of the thread - you now have to wade through a bunch of responses to see the pictures. Having "Latest finds" forum would be better, though it may be an overkill - we will have one, at maximum two new threads in that forum per week. I like the idea of having a "Latest Finds" sub-forum, but sub-forums are not supported by phpBB. There may be sub-forum mods out there - I'll look for them tonight. Even if I find a phpBB mod it may take some time before I install it. If anybody wants to help with this (find the mod and/or install it on test system) please post.
As for old hardware pictures - maybe we should create a separate forum for these.
