Hi all,

I am a newbee in this forum, and i'm hoping to get some helpful information here.

The problem I have, is a damaged CPU out of a notebook, which seems to be very rare.

The name is AMD XP-M 1600+ AXMS1600GXS3C

I don't find any source to buy it, even a used CPU would be fine.

Any help would be nice

BR,

MacRib
Very Happy

Look for a replacement on eBay. all Athlon XP-M Thoroughbred B (133 MHz FSB, available from 1400+ to 2200+ should work in your notebook, if the cooling is sufficient - search for the model of your computer with highest speed cpu to know how good your cooling is.

Do you plan to sell your damaged cpu ?
If yes, I could be interested.

Hello,

thanks for your quick response.

Maybe its just an understanding problem, but all these XP-mobile CPU
are based on Socket A (462), (with a square without pins in the middle)
but my CPU don't has this place free and this is called (as far as i know...) MicroPGA.

So most of the Ebay-XP-M processors won't fit.

Am I right ???

Thanks for reply and correction if needed
Wink

Be sure which Socket your motherboard takes. I bought the wrong chipset due to lack of research and it cost me $50. if this chip is not socket a then it is likely socket 563. The 563 is about 1.25inx1.25in and the pinset is square without any gap in the middle. you can find them on ebay for about $50, which is where i got mine. the search for ''563 axmt'' and read the full auction carefully to be sure it is the correct socket. the axmt2400+ is the fastest I could find.

Look for processors that have "G" after the rated speed, for example AXMS2000GXS4C:

http://cgi.ebay.com/AMD-MOBILE-ATHLON-XP-M-2000-1-53GHz-CPU-AXMS2000GXS4C_W0QQitemZ330126523842QQihZ014QQcategoryZ86712QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

It should fit into your motherboard, but I don't know if it will work for you or not because it has different core than AXMS1600GXS3C.
