I've been working on a P3-1.4 for a significant amounf of time, and I finally got a mobo+gfx card for my homeless Athlon.
I had tested it at work, and I thought maybe the motherboard I was testing it with was bad..... The system randomly reboots.
Same thing with my new system, exact same fashion! I'm kinda peeved. I dont want to spend ~$80 to replace the processor!
What gives? Can I do anything? :-C The processor is from an OEM outfit, not boxed. |

| Have you checked capacitors on the motherboard? Are they bulging or leaking? |

Did you use the same power supply or different power supplies?

| Different. I am sure it is the processor. I am wondering if there are any measures I can take, as far as warranty.... I did some research, and I am doubting it. |

i had a problem like this, i had to press really hard on my P3 just to get it to boot before it burnt my finger.
try an older socket 370 like a celeron mendocino, probably your pins are too short. _________________ Having SEX I gave her the Killer POKE, with an I/O motion till the CDP broke, I got Compact Disc then I logged out, took a f00f on a HCF Smoke, the BSoD Stop Error'ed my WinME, as I started to Kernel Panic and go insane-y. <ch> Insane in the mainframe... |

... I dont understand. Are you asking me to run it without a heatsink/fan or to insert a socket 370 processor into the socket 939 motherboard?
This topic is about my Athlon 3800+, an anecdote regarding it was the entire system it replaced, which was a Tualatin P3 |

what i meant to say is try another processor in the 939 class, its probably because your pins are too short, like my case with my mendocino and my p3 _________________ Having SEX I gave her the Killer POKE, with an I/O motion till the CDP broke, I got Compact Disc then I logged out, took a f00f on a HCF Smoke, the BSoD Stop Error'ed my WinME, as I started to Kernel Panic and go insane-y. <ch> Insane in the mainframe... |
