I have an Acer Aspire 3052LCi laptop which has a Celeron M 360 1.4/400/1024
will a Pentium M 765 2.1/400/2048 processor work in this.

It may work. Both processors have Dothan core, and the Pentium M voltage is close to the one of Celeron M.
