Hello!

I found this DEC MicroVAX 3100 M80 mainboard, powered by a 50 MHz
KA47 processor. I would like to know which chip is the CPU. I have other
VAX mainboards where the CPU is in the bottom right corner of the board,
but in this case, the quartz and cache chips seems to be around the left
one. Anybody could help me?

Note: the two chips have the same pinouts...

Thanks in advance,
Jérôme

Are you sure that it's the CPU? Your KA48 seems to be the same than my KA47... Question

I'm not totally sure. I had only a broken piece of a cpu board. After a long searching I found a sematic picture of that what said this is the SOC cpu. I'm searching that damn site for an hour without success. Rolling Eyes

Usefull website, thanks!

But still have a doubt: on my motherboard ( http://www.vaxcluster.de/mambo/index.php?option=displaypage&Itemid=63&op=page&SubMenu= )
there are its theorical 2-chips KA47 CPU ( http://www.vaxcluster.de/img.php?url=/cpus/mariah1.jpg&title=DEC%20Mariah )
plus your SOC KA48 CPU ( http://www.vaxcluster.de/img.php?url=/cpus/soc.jpg&title=DEC%20SOC ).

Quite strange...
