| Quote: | | Now I promise do tests of PF100 and PF110 to end this week. |
I couldn't set P110 settings by jumpers on my motherboard. Highest value was P100 - propably my mistake but you all know that is hard to set correctly without any manual and prints on PCB.
I got to know that PF Nexgens are getting hot very quickly and they don't want to boot up when they are not chilled We talking about high temperature in range about 50-60 degrees (touching by my fingers). I used small aluminium heatsink with medium speed 5x5cm fan without thermal paste (to not get dirty ) When I paused booting at first screen and CPU got hot then let it forward I got message : keyboard error. I'm sure it was caused by high temp.
This test confirm old theories about not stable Nexgens.
On both CPUs numeric processor was detected.
Two of mine Nexgens (PF100 and PF110) were booting and showing these screens :

added some screen shots
Maybe we will test these CPUs in some programs to have knowlage about performance.
Gennadiy do you need results to upload on your website ? _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

I'll dig out the PCI motherboard jumper settings tomorrow and post it here for you.

I noticed your BIOS is quite old. That may add to problems with faster/later NexGen CPUs. You should update to the latest version, p06y034q, contained in http://www.memotech.franken.de/NexGen/Pack/updtpi31.exe.
Also, faster Nx586s need very fast cache RAMs. This could also be the limiting factor. What is the speed of your cache SRAMs? |

I read topic on cpu-museum.de forum and faster Nexgens need faster cache - best 10 ns. I have soldered Etron Tech 12 ns _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

I suspect P06Y034Q.PRD is BIOS backup. I can change extension to .bin and flash manually ? If yes I will use uniflash (don't want remove sticker and use programmer). _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

Yes, this file is the BIOS image (128 KB size).
If you get to run the board with a slower Nx586 (or a slower speed setting), you can also program the BIOS in-board with the FLSHPF30.EXE program contained in updtpi31.exe.
I also have your older BIOS version and some other versions, so don't worry - you can always go back.

No need to remove the sticker: The PCI board always uses the SST29EE010 Flash EPROM chip. |
