wdc and chips++

i wonder about this manufactors....

chips
wdc
vlsi

they are all big in chips but havent they made any cpu,fpu or mcu becouse i cant find any info saying?

Chips = Chips & Technologies (they made the famous Super 386 and Super Math)

WDC = Western Digital

VLSI = VLSI Very Happy

There is another WDC - Western Design Center. They make 65C02, 65C816 and microcontrollers based on them.

sitting her whit a wdc...dont now who of them it,the print say:

(c)wdc`83
wd1010a-pl
05-05 8535

and my other wdc is almost alike or all have the WD in front of the numbers and so on

This is Western Digital's MFM hard disk controller. Was used on original IBM PC/AT FDD/HDD adapter.

then if the rest of them have the same printing,difrent number its western digital i will belive.

aquired by Intel for their chipsets I might add. THey made some nice mobile sets and some mobile graphics cores
