Hi!
I'm wondering if anybody has a CC'd / public domain picture of an Intel Pentium MMX BP80503200 200 MHz (SL23W) ... I found one on KOMZ.org, but since I don't know the license, I'm not able to use it.
I have one on my desk, but my digital camera has gone kaput.

It will be included in UWN Issue #52 (Ubuntu Weekly News).

Cheers, and Thanks,
Ryan

Awesome! ... but pitty there isn't a scan of the underside/pins.
www.cpucollection.se/details.php?image_id=1028 looks identical to mine, except that it has SL274 written on the front instead of SL23W ... Very Happy
Umm. I don't know much about CPUs... but I assume those are minor differences and that both CPUs are essentially the same?

Thanks for the picture!
Ryan

PS: (If you're wondering about the closeup of one that I took for the last issue, tinyurl.com/3e2jze )

Yes, these are very much the same from a user point of view. Many differences are even only known by Intel, i.e small revision changes.

Good luck with the article!

Hey, thanks!
It's not really an article, rather, it's a closeup of a random piece of hardware, people have a week to guess what it is, and then the following week we send out the fullsize and a new closeup.
Is (cpu-world image link) tinyurl.com/35f4te from (cpu-world page link) tinyurl.com/2l75ob OK to use?
Rather, is it public domain/CC/open-licensed?

Cheers,
Ryan

Hi,

here are some hi-res pictures of an SL23W Pentium in my collection.

If you wish, you can use these pictures (free of charge of course). I am the owner of them.

I could also take more pictures (different angle, background etc.) if required.

If you want a choice of what picture to use, here's mine:

All my images are scanned at 300 dpi and cropped to the edge of the image (losing no detail and gaining no surplus size). All processors used on my site have top and bottom (plus fan, where originally shipped together), so detail will always be the same for both.

Naturally you can take this post as permission to use the pics (and others from my site, as long as I know where they are used). I retain copyright if anyone should ever benefit financially from my images, but they may be freely used for any non-commercial purpose (think in terms of the Gnu Public License if looking for terms of use for anything I develop or create...)
