Hi all,
Sorry to be a pain (this it my first time posting here) but I was wondering if anybody could help. Crying or Very sad

Basically, I've tried to upgrade my system. At the moment it's using an SL6WH - socket 478, 800MHz quad pumped FSB @ 2.6GHz

(This - http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Pentium_4/Intel-Pentium%204%202.6%20GHz%20-%20RK80532PG064512%20(BX80532PG2600D).html)

with a P4 Extreme Edition CPU -> SL7CH @ 3.4GHz

(http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Pentium_4/Intel-Pentium%204%20Extreme%20Edition%203.4%20GHz%20-%20RK80532PG0962M%20(BX80532PG3400F).html)

When I plug it in it fails to boot (at all). Any idea what could be going wrong Question

Thanks for your help!
DD

Thought it might be a VCore / VID problem but turns out it was a bent pin... :-

Oh BTW, the isn't any info on this on the web (and I spent some time checking!) so I'll post it here in case somebody else is bothered - A Dell GX270 CAN take a P4 3.4GHz Extreme Edition (SL7CH) no problem, even although the official support list only goes to 3GHz Wink

Dell say about things which they tested. They test only those which they sale ... so as you said their mobos can support much more than is mentioned in specifications.
