Hi folks,
I recently bought as new Mobile Athlon 64 3700+ cpu (un-lidded) to install in a Shuttle AN51 Nforce3 250 motherboard.
But CPU-Z and SiSoft Sandra indicate that its only running at 800mhz and not 2400 mhz. My ram is also only running at 160mhz and not 200 (400).
See screen shots...
Have tried running some benchmarks and its... sooo slow.

I have updated the bios to the latest version "an51rs0y.bin"... I have tried the cpu in a Shuttle AN50R as well and i get the same problem.

I carnt change the multiplier clock to x12 = 2400 mhz (it allows upto X15) as the PC wont post, just a black screen.

I bought the Shuttle AN51R mobo as it had good reviews as the bios was very clockable.

The Shuttle WEB site and tech support indictes that it will take a 3700+, not sure if they meant an Mobile 3700+ though ?

Its a pity, as the mobile 3700+ is very low voltage and low temperature.

I have tried my standard lidded AMD Athlon 64 3200+ in the mobo and it works fine.

Any ideas... before I Ebay it ?

Hey,

managed to fix the problem, downloaded "Crystal CPUID" and tweeked the multiplier from in there.

Now running shade over 2400 mhz x 12 multiplier and stable.

Cpu voltage is a little high though at 1.5V

Not compatible CPU with your mobo is my opionion. I see you have set very low latency on DRAM sticks. Try set 2,5x3x3x7 and then 200 MHz
