I have an Intel D925XCV Mobo presently carrying a 3.4 ghz P4 in it's LGA775 socket.

Can I drop a new fangled Intel Quad Core Q6600 2.4GHz S775 into this mobo? Is it simply the socket 775 and the clock frequencies available on the mobo that's important here or are there other factors?

If this actually works technically, is it a good upgrade with regards performance or is there a better option out there?

Thanks,
Dan

Thanks Bacterio,

I suspected as much actually Sad I found a 'compatible processors' chart on Intels site but I was hoping that the chart may not have been maintained since my Mobo became old, but it looks like thats not the case Sad

Oh well, will need a beefy upgrade then in time for Crysis Sad
