Here is the top of the Intel Pentium fake CPU code SY126.
Someone says that alcohol should delete white characters but I don't want to try. It seems that this chip is very unstable and hangs up continously freezing and giving out exception errors.
I also left a comment here http://www.cpu-world.com/sspec/SY/SY126.html about a strange code on the bottom.

Look at Google Groups fore more details.

Please post any info about this chip or its producer.

hi, Rapoh.
first i would say "ES" on the back doesn't mean an Engineering sample, this is a verrrrrrrrry old topic la.

secondly, if you want to see the true face of it, you can wash out the mask layer on the top. after doing that, the laser printing(genuine printing by Intel) will be readable.

regards
hugo

Also there is a discrepancy between the top and bottom printing in the partnumber - speed.

On the bottom we have the " - " in the part number - speed, but not on the top. All the examples I have are consistent with the - on the top and bottom where it is used.

Here is an example:

His picture is really bad so I cant see the surface.. compare your cpus to other pentiums of the same package. You will soon see:

- the poor quality coating on the top covering the original markings. These are easily removed with a little mechanical effort. I have many examples, I'll scan some soon, there are also other posts her ein this forum somewhere with pictures.

or

- the thinner ceramic where the original markings were ground away and new ones put on. In this case a wash wont help, but the cpu is thinner. The cpu packages are made to a tight specification - but I dont have any reference to that - maybe someone else can post some data/info.

I have a 486DX2-66 in this case:

Also, the ceramic color and printings are a little lighter...

I prefer to mantain my SY126 as is because I think it will remain something rare with a discreet value.
