Hi one & all
I have an Asus A7V400-MX motherboard, I got hold of a Barton XP 3000 333Mhz FSB which I have fitted but I thought it would reconise the new chip and set itself up (my ignorance) What my question is how do I now change the BIOS to run at this new speed.
To any one that answers this. Can they please tell me step by step as I am not computer minded Thanking you all in advance.
jon

Your Motherboard don't set automatically the FSB of your CPU (in your case 333) so you must make this with your hands on the motherboard not in the bios.

open the Asus A7V400-MX manual at this link
http://dlsvr02.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socka/km400a/a7v400-mx/e1817_a7v400-mx.pdf

and then go to the 1.9 chapter
locate on your MB this DIP switches (rear the memory modules) and then set the frequency at 166.67 Mhz (the second example) 1-off/2-on/3-on/4-on/5-on

you must making these operation with the PC power off !!
