POST fails on new Motherboard?

Hello I am new to this forum and wondering if anyone may have any tricks.

I recelt built 2 systems with 2 different Motherboards and have teh same problem on both...

System1-
MB=P4M800PRO-m V2.0
CPU=Pentium D 805

I get power to the board. HD, Fan, CD etc all work but the system will not do a post.

System2:
MB=ASUS P5PE-VM
CPU=CPU=Pentium D 805

Same problem system will not do a post.

Anyone have any ideas what to look at to understand why it wil not POST.

I would say to start with the basics, are the parts used or new? Check all connections and make sure you have all power cable attached, check video cards are in well, if running more than one stick of memory in them try with only one at a time until you get them fired up, upgrade the bios with a floppy if you need to update them. make sure the powers sources are working by trying them with other known working parts. Some motherboards have more than one power connector so make sure they are all connected.

Burnt cpu maybe, try to find another compatible with your mobos and check if it posts. Check jumpers if any, try with only ram and cpu and/or video card if not onboard.

Look in mobos sites for cpu compatibility, maybe you ahve to upgrade the bios with a supported cpu.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have tested all the suggestions and still no POST. As per MB Manufacturer CPU is supported on both boards. BIOS maybe the issue though. So next question would be.....

Is it possible to update the BIOS even if there is no POST and nothing appearing on the Monitor.

Both boards have built in Video and I have also tried adding a Video Card on both with no luck.

If the BIOS chip is removable, yes... Take it out, and do a 'hot swap' if you dare

I'd try another CPU forst, though.

Its most likely grounding out on the chasis somewhere, if the parts have worked before and are known to be good. Put it all together outside the case and see if it starts.
