I have been trying to post some shots of a few new chips ive added to my collection but i seem to have some problems. I scan them at 500dpi then go into ms paint and chop them up to just the size of the chip involved. I save it as a jpeg, but it wont upload for me, and the error doesnt say its too big it says cant upload. Any ideas what i might be doing wrong? I have taken shots with my camera and they wouldnt upload but that was because they were too big, after adjusting the picture size i had no trouble, but i have not had any success with my scans. Confused

500dpi is far more than you need for web images. Use 150dpi instead.

MSPaint is not a great program, try Paint Shop Pro or even better get an old copy of photoshop. I like paintshoop pro as its easy to use ( overkill really ) and shows you the file size.

You want to crop your images then resize them.

Image upload directory didn't have proper permissions. I just fixed it now - try to re-upload the image.

150dpi leaves out too much detail for some processors - I ahve experimented with different resolutions, and although I usually scan at 300dpi, sometimes I ahve to scan at 1200 (or higher) and reduce down, so the part number is visible on the finished pic Smile
