I just purchased an AMD Athlon 1300MHz for my socket A/462 Asus A7V-E mobo. I upgraded from the AMD Duron 850MHz i had on it before. I purchased the processor from a guy on ebay.

Well, im having an issue, where the mobo is not reading the CPU's speed correct or something. The processor is a 1.3GHz, but the mobo is listing its speed as 1010MHz.

What could be the problem?

I didnt flash my BIOS because after getting feedback from other people on this forum, my BIOS didnt have to be flashed for the CPU i just upgraded to.

Thank You!

In advance sorry for my bad english but try to understand me.

Your MB support only CPU's with an FSB of 100 Mhz, seem your Athlon is a 133Mhz.
Looks at the code number on the die of the CPU, if the last number is "C" is a 133Mhz FSB so isn't properly know from your MB.

If the last number is "B" is a 100Mhz FSB and the problem is another.
In this case looks at the manual
http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socka/kt133/a7v-e/a7ve-101.pdf
at pag.17 be sure the settings are on "jumper free mode" so your MB automatically must know your CPU at the right frequency.

If your CPU is a 133Mhz FSB not all is lost, you can overclock your MB manually.
Set at pag.17 on "jumper mode" and a pag 18-19
FSB 110Mhz x 12 (multipler) = 1320MHz
or if the system will be unstable
FSB 105Mhz x 12.5 (multipler) = 1312Mhz
