I have a p4 640 runing on a Asus p5gd1 and i would like to upgrade to something better. Obviously I need a motherboard and CPU and I would like to keep the cost to about $250. Which CPU motherboard combo would people advise?
Games and HDTV are what the system will be used for. I already have in my possesion and 8800 gt so the graphics are taken care of.

Get a $100 ga-p35-ds3l and an $150 E4600 
You'll be quite happy with performance and features stock, and if you overclock you'll be very happy there too. |
