Which would be faster between:

Mobile Sempron 2800+
socket 754
800fsb motherboard
ddr400 ram 512mb
PC Chips A31G 1.0

OR

Athlon XP 2800+
socket 462
333mhz fsb
ddr400 ram 512mb
ECS Km400-M2 V3.0C
**THIS BOARD ONLY OPERATES AT DDR333**

All components aside from CPU/Motherboard are identical (ram, hdd, power sup, etc)

Thanks for the quick reply!

Thats what I had thought also, even though the core clock is actually 200mhz slower, the sempron would still be faster? If you could take a guess, how much faster do you figure, 5-10 percent?

I am very curious. Reason is I have 2 systems here, with the above specs, and one I get to keep and the other I have to get rid of, so you can imagine which one I want to keep lol.

Personally I would stay away from any motherboard made by PC Chips or ECS (same company). Junk, Sad IMHO.

Both these boards have done well for me so far, although they arent my prime choice. I am totally in love with Asus, however the price was right on these systems so I wasnt complaining. I wouldnt go so far as to call them 'junk' but its definitly well known they arent exactly top of the line Sad
