Winning bid is $19, shipping is $11.95, you will pay $30.95.

well, they differ in two aspects.
1) no reserve on Taobao.
2)Ebay will take my maxim bidding price as the final price if I win. but Taobao will take the lowest price you can win. therefore in this case, I would win by only a bit higher than the other bidder.

Hmm i think you got that wrong. Of course its the lowest winning bid that counts. If i put $100 as my max in an auction and the other bidder has put $50 as max i will win with $51.

Really??
then why in this case I won by $19? but the other bidder had put only $3.99

You are right, that i can not explain. Did not look on the bidding. Could it have to do something with the auction having a reserve price?

Found it!

"In Reserve Price Auctions, if your maximum bid is the first to be greater than the seller's reserve price, the eBay system will automatically jump the price up to meet the reserve, and bidding will continue from there."

There was a court case in the USA about this. Same deal. Seller outbid himself and wanted the lower price. It was E-bays contention that he deserved to pay the full amount. I do not know the outcome of this case. As is often the case with the lousy news media all you hear about is unresolved cases which ultimately is useless information. There is never an update when a case is decided.
