AMD vs Intel

Hello, i have been looking around for both AMD and intel proccessors. I am trying to decide between the AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ and the Core 2 Duo E6400. Basically would the extra .47 ghz or the extra 1 mb in the L2 cache be better?
