For those one or mabey two of you who noticed my absence the last couple of weeks. Recently I built a new gaming computer (yes I put it in my moded rack mount case) for the release of Crysis. Which looks unbelievable on it I must say. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the s-spec on the processor. I couldn't have planned it better myself if I tried. I must have laughed for 5min. My wife even thinks it's funny though she assures me I am not a slacker.
I'll post the frame rates and such in Crysis when I get board of playing it and care about the frame rate. Though I must say, the controls are a bit clunky in Crysis which disappoints me since Far Cry was so fluid. I'm not sure they could have made the nano suit any more difficult to operate. I love the single player but I suspect the multiplayer will have a ridiculously steep learning curve because of this. In any case, If you are curious about the components in the new system here they are.
Intel Core 2 Duo Quad Q6600 Processor (yes I went over to the dark side but the Phenom sucks so I blame AMD)
Asus P5K Deluxe MB
XFX Geforce 8800 GT Video Card
2 Gigs Kingston HyperX2 DDR 2
WD RE 500GB Sata HDD
LG Sata DVD-RW
Same Modod rack mount server case and other components as before |

That is great!! The window on the top is a nice touch!!
I agree with your points on Crysis, I pratically have to hide to make nanosuit adjustments
And talk about bringing a PC to its knees. I have the following setup and it can only handle half settings on medium and half on high. Yours probably does much better with the better cpu and video card.
Dual Core 6600
Intel D975XBX2
2 x 1GB Buffalo FireStix
4 x 500GB WD
ATI X1950 |
