| I have a Gigabyte GA-7ZX-1 rev. 1.0, whats the fastest duron that will work on my mobo cuz i can only run 100mhz (200mhz ddr).. im kinda a noob at computers too buh i can build them.. lol |

but what about the 1400mhz duron that runs at 100mhz fsb.. A1400AMS3B
and can i run and athlon at lower clocks or does my motherboard not let it work?? |

woops.. i wrote the cpu down.. I meant AMD Duron 1400 - DHD1400AMT1B..  |

It may work. This processor was not officially released by AMD, it could be just an OEM processor, and it's difficult to find one. This is probably why it was not tested by Gigabyte.

Since Morgan Durons work on your motherboard then underclocked Athlon XP Palomino may work too, but it's impossible to tell it in advance without trying...

It may not work because it 's based on newer core. Even if it runs it'll be just slightly faster than the DHD1300AMT1B that is supported by your board.

though if i get the 1800mhz duron.. it may work cooler than the 1300 one... i bouth a thoroughbred 2600+... now im going to run it with a XP TMC adapter so it will work at 1600mhz though it may be unlcoked so i might be able to overclock it  |
