| I have an AMD Athlon XP 2400+, number: AXDA2400DKV3C. When I looked it up in the AMD processor section, the photo of the CPU with the exact same number was shown in a different color and a differnt architecture than mine. Mine looked exactly like the color and architecture of the AXDA2800DKV4D, including the letter "T" in the upper right corner rather than the letter "N" . Is that normal or does that mean I have a fake or something? |

Colors vary.
Two different models. Happens, like cars, different paint... |

AXDA2400DKV3C was manufactured using at least three slightly different packages. What is the package number of your chip? You can find package number in one of the corners on top of your chip - it's is a 5-digit number that starts from 27.

AXDA2400DKV3C was manufactured with this package type. If you're still unsure whether your CPU is a fake or not please post processor markings and/or post a picture of the processor with visible markings.

Gennadiy,
Thank you for your info. I'll take it that what you said is correct. That there were three variants explains the green color insted of the olive/brown pictured in the AMD list, and that the postion of all the little which-a-ma-call-its around the core vary slightly. I believe the package number in the AMD list photo was different than the one on my CPU (27648).
Thanks again for answering my question.
