|
|
Hello everyone,
I would like to upgrade the cpu of my pc and i'm looking for a bit of advice.
My PC is, motherboard is A8M2N-LA (HP/compaq codename NAOS) AM2+ socket running a AMD x2 5000+ 2.6ghz. 4GB ram 4200 533mhz, 720watt psu and a 8800 gts 320mb.
I was looking at the pheno, 9600+ for an upgrade and as per the reviews it is not that good but i like the price. So i was wondering if is worth it to change my 5000+ to a phenom 9600+ black edition?
I'm mostly using my pc to play games... was wondering if i would see a big difference in crysis with a better cpu like phenom?
Thx!
Edit: i wanted to know too if this is a 64-bit or 32-bit cpu since i am running vista x64 |

that is 64 bit CPU with cache L1, L2 and L3. It is loosing with Intel Core Quad but a bit cheaper. I would wait some months with your X2 5000+ and see how prices are droped. I think AMD can be better soon. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

Crisis support Quad Core CPUs and you will see much better performance but it is worth to spend 200 USD ? Maybe this question is not good because people spend twice on VGA card to get 10% more of performance Now there are a few of games which support quad. If you feel your X2 5000 is to weak for new games then change it. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

For gaming it's better a fast 2-core than a 4-core

| Also, with the exception of asus boards manufacturers are really dragging their feet when it comes to putting out bios updates that support the quad core phenom boards. I would be surprised if a proprietary board like yours is ever updated. Unless, that is they are still using the exact same board. I wouldn't put that past them though. |
