Hi!
My computer is kind of 8 years old now and full with viruses, programs that can not be uninstalled and more bugs. A while ago I have had a problem with overcloacking... my comp. just shutted down when it was useing about 100% of CPU...ofcourse it was because of the dust inside it so I get it fixed.. but now another problem appeard. Sometimes one of the processes that are running suddenly use 100% of CPU...so the comp lagg a bit. What to do when a process is useing 100% of CPU ... yeah ofcourse turn the specific process off. But the problem is; when I turn a process of...another start to use 100% of CPU and so on. So when I turn of almost all of the programs I am running at the moment explorer.exe start to use 100% of CPU and the comp lagg as hell ...It takes about 5 minutes of waiting after I klick on "shut down process" that explorer.exe exit. When this is done I can not turn any program on (while explorer.exe is off and by useing file-->run on the task manager) because it starts to use 100% of CPU. After turning one program on and off many times it start to use CPU normally and I can turn on explorer.exe and all programs I want.
I have had problem with this for a long time now and I realy need help...it's soo enoying! please help!!

I would do a complete new install of windows on it, the reason some of the processes are using 100% cpu is most likly a trojan or virus. If you have the windows or restore disc for the comp it will take about an hour, or you can continue to mess around with it and never really solve the problem. I am almost sure that reinstalling windows will be a better idea. Good luck _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." A.E. |

| yeah I know... but the thing is the computer is more the property of my dad then me and he has "promised" to restore the windows but never done it (laaazzzyy!!! -_-)...he thinks it takes a whole week to restore the whole windows system...and I think what he means is that it take a lot of time to install all the windows program like microsoft office ect...is this realy right? |

Depending on how old it is it could take a couple hours, but if its younger than sy 5 or so years it should only take an hour or so. Office maybe another hour or so. If you gave more detail of the system i could judge it more accurately _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." A.E. |

A couple hours and he should have windows and all the other software he could possibly use installed with no problems, I know i can get windows and about 8 or more very large games installed as well as all my desktop settings and such done in a few hours. Now the time may be eaten up by trying to save all the data from the programs he runs now before the reinstall happens, and maybe he is not comfortable doing a reinstall of windows, so he may be a little intimidated by the thought of wiping his hard drive clean and starting fresh, but it is really the best and only way to really make sure the machine is free and clear of all trojans , viri, spam and spyware. _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once."
