Looking for some advice on improving my computer. I am currently running a Intel Pentium D 925 Processor 3.0GHz in a XFX nForce 680i LT SLI Motherboard. I currently have Corsair Dual Channel TWINX 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz E.P.P. Memory and a XFX GeForceŽ 8600 GT XXX 256MB PCI Express graphics card. I mainly use my computer for online gaming with a broadband cable connection. My question is should I buy another two sticks of the Corsair memory or another 8600 GT XXX graphics card and set my graphics cards in the SLI mode.
Thanks,
Paul |

Another 8600 all the way You will only see a tiny increase in gaming performance or even nothing with an extra 1 or 2GB of RAM. Also, if your OS is 32 bit, it will not be able to see 4GB RAM, only 3.X(can't remember) GB. If you buy another GeForce 8600 GT for SLI configuration, you will see pretty much performance increase in games. |

| I'm not sure, but try to right click on "my computer" (under start) select "properties" and see what it says. |

OK.
SLI is goot when you have $700 8800 Ultra, and you want to have more for new record in 3DMark at any cost ... one way is to use SLI or 3-Way SLI
In the real life $300 8800GT will be faster then 2x150$ SLI 2x8600GT _________________ My Want List: http://www.cpu-world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22729

I agree, more ram will not help. Crysis actuality runs negligibly slower with my 4 gigs than when I had 2. More memory would be a waste of funds. I also agree that sli only makes sense when you are buying the fastest graphics card available. 1 8800gt is superior to to 8600's. The 8800gt and the (g92) 8800gts both in 512 meg are the best performance for value high end cards right now. All that being said you might get more boost from a new intel core 2 quad 6600 for the money that pentium d is a poor performer. I believe that any 680i chipset should run a core 2 quad. If it helps any I run a q6600 with a Geforce 8800gt and get 30fps in Crysis on high settings 1680x1050 with no aa or af.
Good luck gaming (btw give me a shout out if you see me on line in crysis i am -47-),
