|
|
Hi!
I came across a fake Intel 386 with the i386 logo. I suspect that the i386 logo where not in use when this model where around (A80386-20). To help cpu-collectors spot future fakes, can we get together finding around which week Intel started using the I386 logo?
Ok, we got a theory. As in science we will now try to crack this theory.
If i state:
Week 2 in 1989 was the last week without i386 logo
Week 3 in 1989 was the first week with i386 logo
everybody agree?.
Start diggin´ your collection and tradebox and find your earliest chip with the logo. Post a image or datecode here.
Mine:

Here are a few.
The A80386DX16 L6190661E ( I assume is 1986, week 19)
But it also says 1985 1987 on the front. Could it be 1996, week 19? |

| Quote: | | A80386DX16 L6190661E |
is most probable 1996, as it has the newer "DX"-logo und no "-" as on later Pentiums und 486DX4. |

Perhaps there are more than one production line at Intel or even different assembly plants where the week could diff.) _________________ My collection: http://www.cpucollection.se :::::: http://www.chipdb.org Photos of chips you never knew existed. All my 386's obey to the rule.
PS: maybe could we make a rule about the new 386DX logo too? _________________ My microprocessor collection: The Gecko's CPU Library |

My latest non-logo chip is 50/1988, the earliest with logo is 13/1989. This would support your theory.
Best regards,
