It is true that for AMD engineering the vendor string is "AMD IS BETTER" instead of "AuthenticAMD" ?

I can't test the processor. Right now I have only one system set up - to test K6, K6-2 and K6-3 processors (166 - 550 MHz), and similar clocked Pentium, Cyrix, etc CPUs.

I have seen your tests the "AMD K5 engineering sample".
Now, you can verify if it is true that for AMD engineering the vendor string is "AMD IS BETTER" instead of "AuthenticAMD" ? Wink

All of K5 ES chips I tested (90, 133 166 and 200 MHz) had "AuthenticAMD" vendor string.

Edit: It's possible AMD 80486 ES chips have this id. I have only one in my collection, it'll take me at least a couple of weeks before I test it. May be The_Mad can test his - he has a few AMD 80486 ES CPUs in his collection.
