Hi
Im waiting for this processor to come as i just bought it.
Silly question but on this site the processor is colour brown
the one im getting the picture was green
do they come in either colour?
Also once i know the new one will work ok in this computer, i was thinking of putting my athlon 2800 cpu in my old other computer here, but my old computer's motherboard says its only goes up to 2600 and 266FSB, are they like backward compatible and work or not? no biggie if not as i can sell it and get a 2600 266FSB one, just thought ill ask.
thanks

Colour isn't an issue.
Can you post your motherboard's name? And the cpu code (axda.... like - on a black label).
Your 2800 cpu can be either 266 or 333 mhz fsb. |

7ZXE revision 2 I guess.
Your 2800+ is 166 mhz fsb, will work at 133 if cpu has same core.
D/l cpuZ and post core name, have fun. |

Hi
Good programme that.
It says
Name: AMD Athlon XP 2800+
Code Name: Barton
Core Speed: 2085.2Mhz
Multiplier 12.5
Bus Speed: 166.8
Rated FSB: 333.6
So look like it wont work in my old computer that list i printed out says needs Thoroughbreds or Palominos.
Doesnt matter I can sell my old one once i get my 3200 and get a 2600 for it.
Thanks for letting me know about the CPUz programme.
thanks
